With FC 27 almost here, one of the biggest questions is always the same: what team should you build first?

I've already looked at some of the best starter players in FC 27 and even built a 100K starter squad, but realistically, most of us aren't going to have 100K sitting there straight away.

So this time I've dropped the budget to 50K.

Using the EasySBC FC 27 Squad Builder, I've put together a team currently predicted to cost around 48K, with 32 chemistry and an 86.9 Meta Rating.

Rather than spreading the coins evenly across all 11 positions, I've spent most of the budget on a few players who I think could make an impact, while finding some ridiculously cheap options elsewhere.

FC 27 50K Starter Squad

The squad is built in a 4-4-1-1 formation, with Alessia Russo leading the line and Elena Julve playing just behind her at CAM.

That brings the predicted cost to around 48K, leaving us just underneath the 50K coin budget.

Obviously, prices are going to move around massively when everyone actually gets onto the game, but I really like how balanced this team looks for the price.

Alessia Russo – ST

Predicted Price: 15K

Starting up front, we've got the most expensive player in the entire team.

Alessia Russo isn't exactly the typical cheap starter striker at 88 rated, but her predicted 15K price makes her really interesting.

She's got 84 pace, 88 shooting and 86 dribbling, while EasySBC currently gives her an 86.4 Meta Rating and A+ rating as an Advanced Forward.

I'd much rather spend 15K on a striker who could potentially stay in the team for a while than save a few thousand coins just for the sake of keeping every player cheap.

Russo takes up almost a third of our budget, but this is one of the positions where I think it's worth spending.

Elena Julve – CAM

Predicted Price: 750 coins

Behind Russo, we're going completely the other way.

Elena Julve is predicted to cost just 750 coins, but she's got 89 pace and 87 dribbling on an 83-rated card.

Her 84.3 Meta Rating isn't anything crazy compared to some of the other players in this squad, but that's not really why she's here.

For basically discard price, we're getting a really quick and agile CAM while saving coins to use elsewhere.

If she actually ends up anywhere near 750 coins at launch, she looks like a really nice starter option.

Moussa Diaby – LM

Predicted Price: 3.3K

I don't think Diaby needs much explaining.

94 pace.

That's going to get people's attention straight away.

He's also got 86 dribbling, an 82.6 Meta Rating and an A Meta Tier as a Winger.

Diaby also featured when I looked at some of the fastest players in FC 27, and getting someone with his pace for a predicted 3.3K looks very good value

For a starter team, he's exactly what I want out wide.

Georgia Stanway – CM

Predicted Price: 11K

Stanway might actually be my favourite player in this entire squad.

She's got:

82 PAC – 79 SHO – 88 PAS – 86 DRI – 78 DEF – 77 PHY

There isn't really a bad stat there for a box-to-box midfielder.

The biggest thing that stands out, though, is her EasySBC Meta rating. Stanway currently has a 92.2 Meta Rating with an A+ rating as a Box-to-Box midfielder.

That's the highest Meta Rating in this entire team.

At a predicted 11K, she's obviously one of our bigger investments, but I'd happily spend the coins here.

She looks like the sort of midfielder who could do a bit of everything at the start of the game rather than needing to be replaced immediately.

Aleix García – CM

Predicted Price: 1K

Next to Stanway, I've gone for a much cheaper option in Aleix García.

He's not particularly quick with 76 pace, but that's not what we need from every midfielder.

His 85 passing and 85 dribbling should make him much more comfortable on the ball, and at a predicted price of just 1K, he allows us to spend the extra coins on Stanway.

I really like this midfield pairing because we're not trying to find two players who do exactly the same thing.

Stanway gives us the more complete box-to-box option, while García can be the cheaper player alongside her.

Athenea – RM

Predicted Price: 1K

On the right we've got another player who looks ridiculously cheap.

Athenea has 90 pace and 87 dribbling, with an 83.5 Meta Rating and A tier as an Inside Forward.

Again, we're talking about a predicted price of only 1K.

With Diaby on one side and Athenea on the other, we've got 94 and 90 pace out wide for just over 4K combined.

That's exactly the sort of value I'm looking for in a 50K starter squad.

Olga Carmona – LB

Predicted Price: 1.4K

Moving into the defence, Olga Carmona looks like one of the best-value players in the squad.

For a predicted 1.4K, we're getting 87 pace, 80 defending and an 86.2 Meta Rating.

Full-backs are one of the positions where I really don't want to spend a massive amount of my starter budget, especially when there are players with this sort of pace available so cheaply.

Marc Púbill – CB

Predicted Price: 3.3K

At centre-back we've got Marc Púbill.

The main thing I'm looking for here is a decent combination of pace, defending and physicality, and Púbill gives us exactly that.

He's got 79 pace, 81 defending and 82 physical, while receiving an 90 Meta Rating as Defender CB.

Nothing about the card is ridiculously flashy, but for a predicted 3.3K he looks really solid.

And more importantly, he works nicely alongside our other centre-back.

Álvaro Carreras – CB

Predicted Price: 8.6K

Carreras is probably the player that stands out most when you look at the defence.

He's only 81 rated, but his actual card looks much better than that overall suggests.

You've got 86 pace, 78 defending and 79 physical, but the really interesting number is his EasySBC Meta Rating.

Carreras currently has a massive 91.7 Meta Rating with an A+ Defender rating.

That's the second-highest Meta Rating in the entire squad, behind only Stanway.

He's predicted to cost 8.6K, so we're spending a decent amount of our budget here, but 86 pace at CB this early in the game is very hard to ignore.

Carreras and Púbill should give us a pretty quick CB partnership without having to spend ridiculous coins.

Eva Navarro – RB

Predicted Price: 750 coins

At right-back, we've managed to save even more coins.

Eva Navarro is predicted to cost just 750 coins, despite having 89 pace.

She also has an 85.0 Meta Rating and A+ Tier as a Fullback.

If the prediction is anywhere close to her actual launch price, this one feels like a no-brainer for a starter squad.

She's quick, cheap and allows us to use the budget on much more important positions.

David de Gea – GK

Predicted Price: 1.5K

Finally, we've got David de Gea in goal.

I'm always hesitant to recommend spending loads of coins on a goalkeeper at the start of the game.

Keepers can be really difficult to judge until we've actually played FC 27 and worked out who's good in-game, so I'd rather keep things simple.

De Gea is 83 rated and predicted to cost around 1.5K, which is more than enough for this squad.

If we find out a few days into FC 27 that there's a ridiculously overpowered cheap goalkeeper, this is also an easy position to change.

How to Upgrade This FC 27 Starter Squad

Another thing I like about this team is that you don't need to completely rebuild it once you start earning more coins.

I'd initially look at upgrading some of the cheapest positions.

Julve, García, Navarro and De Gea are all inexpensive enough that you shouldn't feel tied to them. If you pack someone better or build another 10–20K, you can start improving those positions individually.

Meanwhile, players like Stanway, Russo and Carreras are the ones I'd be more interested in keeping for longer if they perform as well in-game as their cards currently suggest.

And once FC 27 actually releases, we'll have a much better idea of which players are genuinely worth keeping.

One of the biggest things that will determine your starter squad is simply who you pack.

Is 50K Enough for a Good FC 27 Team?

Based on the current predicted prices, definitely.

You don't need an expensive player in every position. The key is finding cheap cards that can do a job while spending more of your budget on a few players who can genuinely improve the team.

This squad is currently predicted at around 48K, so there's even a little bit of room for prices to move.

Just remember that these are pre-release predictions. Once millions of players start buying and selling cards, some of these prices could look completely different.
