What Is the PlayStyles Lab in FC 26?
PlayStyles Lab has been added in the 'The World's Game' update that launched on June 4, 2026, for EA Sports FC. The section allows users to choose PlayStyles freely for certain cards, giving you more freedom than ever to build the players you dream of with the PlayStyles you like. Whether you want to go for the top meta picks or follow your own personal style is up to you.
If you have played the game since the FUT Birthday promo, you will recognise many similarities between the PlayStyles Lab and how FUT Birthday Bakery has worked until now.

Does the PlayStyles Lab Replace the FUT Birthday Bakery?
Yes. FUT Birthday Bakery will no longer be available in-game and is replaced entirely by the new PlayStyles Lab.
How Does the PlayStyles Lab Work?
Here are the most important things you will need to get started with the PlayStyles Lab in FC 26.
Where Can I Find the PlayStyles Lab?
You will find the PlayStyles Lab under the 'Evolutions' section of the game. Here you will find two new categories: 'PlayStyles+ Lab' containing all Evolutions related to PlayStyles+ and 'PlayStyles Lab' which contains regular PlayStyles.
What Are the Requirements for the PlayStyles Lab?
For now, player cards cannot have more than 2 PlayStyles+ when going into the PlayStyles Lab and there is a cap of 3 PlayStyles+ and 8 base PlayStyles when upgrading. There are no limitations on positions, meaning there is a good chance you can get a solid upgrade to your squad's weakest players, no matter which position they play.
Additionally, only 5 rarities are eligible for the PlayStyles Lab.
What Players Can I Use for the PlayStyles Lab?
You can use the PlayStyles Lab with any player card that has one of the following rarities:
- Festival of Football: Star Performer.
- Festival of Football: National Pride.
- Festival of Football: National Pride Champions.
- Glory Hunters.
- FUT Birthday.
How Long Will the PlayStyles Lab Be Available?
The PlayStyles Lab will be available throughout the 'Festival of Football' promo, which follows the World Cup event. Whether EA chooses to keep it afterwards is currently not known.
How Often Can I Use the PlayStyles Lab?
There are no limitations on how often you can use the PlayStyles Lab.

Can I Combine PlayStyles Lab with Normal Evolutions?
Yes, you can still add normal Evolutions to players you have used in the PlayStyles Lab. Just make sure they do not change the rarity!
Cosmetic Evos Can Remove Access to the PlayStyles Lab
Watch out when applying Cosmetic Evolutions to your players. If you end up changing the rarity, the card may no longer be eligible for the PlayStyles Lab. Luckily, you can now remove Evolutions (learn how in one of the following section).
You Can Sell Your PlayStyles Lab Players on the Transfer Market
You can still sell tradable cards after going through the PlayStyles Lab. The only thing you need to do first is to reset the card back to its original state.
How to Reset an Evolution Using the New 'Evo Undo' Feature
After a long time, EA has finally added the option to remove one or more Evolutions from your players. From June 4, you will be able to roll back and fully reset Evolutions in your club. You have two options:
- Remove All Evolutions
- Remove Last Evolution
The days where we have to worry about making our Past and Present legends ineligible for future upgrades are finally over.
